This year Lakme Fashion Week is doing things differently and we are so excited about how fashion in India is allowing consumers and designers alike to start a conversation on sustainability and preserving India’s art and heritage.
IMG Reliance is working with the United Nations of India to showcase the art and heritage from the Northeastern region of India. This partnership between the two organizations aims to highlight sustainable designers from the region and there will be a show where 6 young creatives from the region will get to showcase their sustainable collection.
Northeast India is such a rich region of India and it is beaming with natural resources and art. It is important to sustain the heritage and also give credit where it is due. Many of these designers come from small hill towns and don’t get the opportunity to ever present their work. Most importantly, the partnership will help female artisans from the region.
Stay tuned and leave a COMMENT here to tell us your favourite moment of this year’s Lakme Fashion Week!
