We can hardly believe that we’re already into the 9th month of year. As we reflect upon this past year, my team and I have lots to be thankful and excited for. This past month, Seams For Dreams donated 300 clothing items to long time NGO partner Green Yatra. We just love supporting NGOs that do good work and spread the love amongst those who need it most. We will continue to stay true to our core mission to clothe those in need, so we welcome the opportunity to partner with additional NGOs that share our mission.
As for me, I had the pleasure to be the keynote speaker at the Responsible Fashion Summit in Sri Lanka. This was a spectacular platform that brought in sustainable fashion thought leaders and changemakers from around the world. It was such a humbling experience to talk about all of the great work Seams For Dreams is doing for sustainability in India. In addition, I was one of the celebrity supporters at Lakme Fashion Week’s Sustainable Day at the end of August and I was so excited to walk the ramp for a brand called “I Was A Sari”, which actually won the Circular Design Challenge. It was a great honor to represent a label that is upcycling and also providing fair wages to the women and artisans behind the brand. The showcase was absolutely lovely, and I also had a chance to meet these women and see them in action.
In September, my team is gearing up for a clothes swap in collaboration with Fairtrunk Offline and Fashion Revolution, which will be held at a gorgeous space in the Fort area of South Mumbai called Ministry of New on the 7th of September. Tickets can be bought online so make sure you come shop your heart out in a cleaner and greener way. The Seams For Dreams team will be there showcasing our SFD Love Bundles and taking clothing donations for anything that is not swapped. And, as always, SFD is always looking for additional clothing donations to help us reach our goal to clothe 100,000 people across India! So, please continue to donate your clothes to us and get in touch with our team at firstname.lastname@example.org for any more information on how to partner with us!
Keep giving in style.
